Valplast is a brand of flexible denture base resin made from a biocompatible nylon thermoplastic. First introduced in the 1950s, it has become one of the most recognized systems for removable partial dentures worldwide.
The defining characteristic of Valplast is its flexibility. The material allows the denture to adapt to the natural movements of the mouth, making it more comfortable than rigid prosthetics. Designed primarily for partial dentures, it is ideal for patients who need to replace a few missing teeth but prefer a metal-free, minimally invasive option.
Valplast works particularly well for patients who prioritize aesthetics and comfort, have allergies to acrylics or metals, or are looking for a removable alternative to implants. It is an excellent solution for both unilateral and bilateral partial dentures.
However, in cases requiring rigid structural support for extensive tooth loss, a cast metal framework might still be recommended.
